Experience and Background

Russell Gray - Hudson River Bookkeeping & Consulting, LLCHudson River Bookkeeping & Consulting, LLC was started in late 2004 to serve the accounting and tax needs of individuals and small business owners. Since starting his firm, Russ Gray has worked with a variety of cliental providing them with accounting, bookkeeping, payroll or tax services as well as consulting services assisting them with finding cost effective ways to gain control over their finances. Clients have consisted of homeowners associations, dance studios, manufacturing operations, non-for-profit organizations, law firms and individuals.

Russ brings over 25 years work experience to his clients. He offers his clients different ways to look at finances from having worked in a variety of industries. He has held positions as a staff accountant in the explosive manufacturing industry, state auditor for the NYS Comptrollers Office, treasurer and CFO for a village government as well as financial assistant in a county finance department. Also he has volunteered on various boards serving as President, Treasurer and Chairman. Some of the organizations Russ has served as an officer and member were The Carmel Central School District Citizens Budget Committee, Fox Run Condominium Homeowners Association and The Hudson Valley Ski Club. Currently he serves on The Pawling Free Library Board as Treasurer, BNI Professional Connections Chapter as the Secretary/Treasurer as well as Mentor Coordinator in addition to having served as President and Vice-President. He is also currently a member of the Poughkeepsie Elk’s Lodge #275, Pawling Chamber of Commerce as well as the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Russ holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science from Marist College, Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Accounting and Minor in Economics from The State University of New York at New Paltz and an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Accounting from Dutchess Community College. He keeps current in his field by subscribing to various accounting publications, attending workshops, seminars and courses offered at various education institutions in the Hudson Valley Area.
